Here on Hill street in Los Angeles,it’s the heart of the Jewelry Mfg District. We see it all. Something is making the casters very unhappy these days. Some of the newest materials are just killing the investment as they burn out. That puts ordinary investments at a severe mechanical disadvantage. The resulting castings are just awful.
There are answers to these materials but the issue I’m here to address is the surprise factor. Cad services need to inform the customer and or the person that will actually plaster up and cast the item. We can’t apply the corrections if the materials comes as a surprise. So basically we have a new Pro Tip-Name the material to be burned out and cast. name it by brand and item number. Give your caster a better opportunity to chose investment, burnout and temperatures wisely.
